Are you a Female Founder ready to Kick Some Serious Startup Goals?!

Then the Boosting Female Founders Initiative by the Aussie Government could just be the kickstart you’ve been looking for!

Female-owned and led businesses that have a product or service that’s marketable and expandable into the local and global markets could be eligible for this awesome initiative. If at least 51% of your business is owned and led by a female, getting approved for this grant could give you the wings to launch your own startup business!

So let’s get into the nitty-gritty, what does this program include?

This initiative was introduced to give female entrepreneurs financial aid to help grow their startups and give it the push that it needs to expand into both the local and global markets.

Grants that are co-funded are on offer between $25,000 and $400,000. Up to $80,0000 is available over and above that if the additional eligibility criteria is met (eg- minorities or regional groups). The grant amount will not exceed more than 50% of the total eligible amount forecasted to be spent on the project. If the additional eligibility criteria is met, then you may get up to 70%.

Apart from the financial aid, if you’re eligible, you get assistance and support in the form of mentoring and expert advice. How good is that!

So what’s the government’s aim with this initiative?

  • They want to provide female business owners with the tools to help them grow their business into national and international markets.
  • They want to assist them in overcoming the obstacles they may face in relation to getting access to sufficient finances to expand their startups.
  • They want to diversify the startup founders group
  • They want to encourage and enable female entrepreneurs to become more self-sufficient.

An eligible project must have a minimum of $50,000 in expenditure and should be expecting to get the ball rolling around November 2021.

Also, the last date to submit an expression of interest is the 22nd of April 2021, so you’ll need to act quickly.
